Gravity falls is the best show EVAR. After 5 episodes, i'm completely and utterly hooked. Nicely done, Disney.

I also started watching (and reading) Puella Magi Madoka Magica, an anime show de-constructing magical girl stories, kinda like how Utena de-constructs romantic shojo animes or Evangelion screws with stereotypes of mecha anime. It's... pretty good. I love the story and the characters. I like the stylization of the animation (the monsters always use a different animation style). I don't really like the animation itself, it's pretty cheaply done, most of the time. And the characters always have crossed feet. I think it's to be moe and cute? But it looks so weird! A couple of sequences are gorgeous thought. And that's totally worth it. The rest of the show makes up for it too. I'm on episode 6, so I look forward to watching the second half (yeah, it's only 12 episodes long. Short and sweet. I like that.)

I like how I started getting back into anime and manga since I started working at the bookstore. I sorta dropped the genre a bit because it was getting difficult to find good series among the piles and piles of stuff published in both languages. Being able to test all the new series really got me back into the style. A little too much even *laughs*. They also put the managing of the store's manga section in my hands, which is cool.

Been back to work for a week. Feels good. I like my job. It's a quiet and fun job. I'm working full time until the end of summer to replace folks on vacation, so if you guys don't see me online as much, don't worry! It means i'm either working, or melting.

Akogarezephyr drew a pretty epic drawing of Elaine and Emma, as the day and the night. It's true that the sisters are complimentary opposites. It's fun to see it illustrated so flawlessly.
