*sick again*

Ah, yes, back home, back to work and back with the flue of doom!
For some reason, it seems I always fall ill the week after I return to montréal (and no, i'm not lovesick you romantic saps. I know one of you was gonna make that pun.) I was supposed to go to a art contest evening on thursday, but while coming down the building stairs, I became very dizzy and almost tripped over. I decided it would be wise to go home.
I gotta admit i've been pretty busy. I started my job at the bookstore, now that MASC is over. I have a lot of homework still ,as per usual. I'm also kept pretty busy by all the graduation exhibit business. It's in about a month in a half, so stuff is hitting overdrive. I'm in the space allocation and exposition organisation comittee as well as in the catalogue building comittee (since our exhibit, as any exhibit, comes with a professionnal catalogue!) For some reason, I seem to be coordinating the catalogue thing (I have no idea how that happened, but what the hell. I like coordinating things) so things are going well. We got Jonathan Shaugnessy, contemporary art assistant director at the National Gallery, to write a text for our catalogue, so that's also pretty cool.
People's project ideas are awesome! Someone in our class is building a giant shark plushie by hand. Someone else created a sculpture of a shipping box that's going to be part of an installation ment to have people believe a wild animal is loose in the school. And of course, all the paintings look stupendous! Makes me wish I could paint!!!!
I other news; I have contracts that might allow me to have some of my drawings ACTUALLY PUBLISHED. That's a great way to make a fresh-out-of school student portefoilio look amazing. One contract is just for a few cartoons to illustrate a business book. The other is a wonderful 16e century epic tale of thieves in old england that i'm doing for Adira Rostein, a pretty talented scenarist currently studying in the university's education department. Adira caught me while I was drawing some of my class drawings on the department's light tale. So, right now i'm making her 12 pages in order to propose the project to an editor. The story is good, and drawing it is fun, so what the heck, might as well try something new heh? Not to mention it's always fun to draw someone else's idea. Gives you perspective (and money).
Aside from that, I hurt one of my hands in montréal (fortunatly the left one!) I,m amaze by how much of a wuss I am for someone that waxes her legs.... anyways....
