First person I told asked for specific drawings and got angry when I said I wanted to choose the subject. Needless to say, this person is no longer on my list.
Aw, that sucks. The whole point of gift art is being surprised! If that person wanted something super-specific, s/he should have just paid for a commission. :P
Your rant about the cold makes me grateful that I live in California. When I moved to Colorado for my old job, the snow nearly killed me! So I couldn't imagine living in a place like Canada! And even though I'd love to have ya in California, I'd recommend Texas if you ever decide to move to the USA for a warmer climate (last time I checked, their economy is doing alright).
