 Birthday sketch of the week for kuridee!



It's just the Avatar the last airbender gaang. I figured she and many others might need this drawing to cleanse their eyes after this weekend.

I love drawing groups. I find it almost easier then drawing a single characters. I remember back when I worked at kid's summer camps, I did caricatures of all the counselors as a group. I would always put the chief counselors around the middle or the top, the day counselors in the center and the daycare counselors (me and another girl) on the side. The main counselor had noticed right away and commented on it, saying I really saw an hierarchy in everything and had a tendency to  represent it. I guess I respect authority? ...Oh wait, no I don't. 

Nothing much to report today. I had a day off. Went to get art supplies. And slept a lot. And finished watching Daria. A perfect lazy, lazy day.

I did buy an agenda in an effort to organize myself again. Hopefully this will actually work. I got an agenda with blue lines in case I sketch in it and want to scan it. 

I finally figured at theme to revamp my portfolio. :D Goodbye grey rabbits. You have served me well.

Thanks! I don't even know why. I once drew a picture with 18 people in it. I was so proud of that one.

I did a big group once, but most of them were head/torso shots, so I really admire you getting all the proportions right in there. :3

I find groups make it easier to make a dynamic and balanced picture. A lonely character always looks so... isolated.

So I actually went to see it this morning...

No spoilers!

So the movie itself was very good. The action and effects were amazing. The scenes looked very real and I enjoyed it quite a bit. However, I did see it with a group. So I got some feedback afterwards. They said the same things as me, however, they were disappointed because it skipped scenes from the show. It fit as much as it could in 2 hours but it missed alot. So I would recommend seeing it anyway, but if you've seen the show you might be a bit annoyed with the missing pieces.

Glad you had a day off. Sounded like you needed a break. Everyone does once in awhile. I need to finish my Daria DVD's. I've been marathoning a bunch of other stuff that it's fallen to the wayside.

You know what would really be awesome? Daria fanart! I would LOVE to see your interpretation of those particular characters.

So based on the hierarchy, that makes Toph the leader? Well, she's easily the leader in presence, skill, and all-around awesomeness anyway XD I love how you draw groups. I find it hard to balance all the elements of the picture together, but it flows so easily in your pieces!!

Speaking of which, I still haven't found my tablet pen yet and it's driving me crazy AAUGH. I have a whole Fourth of July weekend to work on the collab but I can't :(

That sucks! I can't believe your pen is lost. That's one of the most frustrating things ever. Link lost his a while ago, so we now "share" one. I hope you find it soon. Or find a cheap one off Ebay.
