Falling and fighting

Just a little doodle. I really like the movement in it. 

Talking about movement, I just purchased and watched again the princess and the frog. So yeah, no the best Disney ever (despite Naveen Fangirlism), but can they ever animate people or WHAT?

On the topic of animation, the Shrek 4 movie trailer is out. It looks like this movie will be good. Generally, Shrek wishes he could be an ogre again for a day. A gnome (Rumpelstiskin apparently) gives him a "day for a day" deal and takes away from him the day where he met donkey and stuff, leading him to saving Fiona. Throwing Shrek in an hilarious alternate version of his world. I think it's the great idea that allows the studio to go crazy story wise without having to play the family angle that really made the third segment heavy. I hated the third movie. Whiny prince Arthur was whiny. But I love the first and second, so I hope the fourth really gets that spark back (from the trailer, it looks like the might).

Plus Fiona gets her badass on hard. She's been badass in every movie so far. But now she gets to be badass in a kilt.

Kilts, people, are god's way of saying that Scotland is so cool, it's even cool in drag.

Ugh, I hated Arthur, too. Whiny is right. I didn't care for the fact he was voiced by Justin Timberlake.

Donkey's babies were adorable, though, and I loved the Princess Fighting Squad. xD I only wished they did more fighting.

A fourth Shrek...I don't know what to think of that. :o But badass Fiona has to be worth it!

I really dig the picture!

This might sound silly but looking at the mans outfit it makes me think he's in pajamas. And the girl is a part of his dream. So while he's waking up and falling to the real world she fighting to stay with him. (Sorry I like to come up with little stories for things... It's a crazy-writer-guy-thing.)

The only thing I'm not fond of in this picture is the girls boots. There's just something about their style (Especially the heels.) that just doesn't seem to fit the rest of the piece. But besides that great work as always!

I really ought to take a page from your book (mwa ha ha) and go for more subtle coloring. I really like how what little color you use brings out the drawing that much more.

And that's one thing I still love more about traditional animation. When done well it just looks neat! Princess and the Frog will never be a favorite, but the quality of the animation can not be contested! I'm hoping to get mine in the mail soon, then I can make all the (willing) roommates see it for the first time. Should be awesome. ^_-

2D animated people are gorgeous!
In 3D, I can understand why they want to deform many of the characters to make them more cartoony but it's just not as appealing as a realistic hand-drawn figure.

I've seen that trailer and frankly I can't wait to watch it either! (look out for a fat puss in boots! that'll be worth remembering. XD)
