Oh, god I could not even watch the anime (I read the books first). There's always one medium where the story is better. In slayer's case, it's the anime. In Full Metal Alchemist too. However, in this case, nope. You know, you're own style can be a blend. Mine is a manga/european blend and it works pretty well. You don't need to evacuate all the traces. Exploit them instead.
