D'awwwww. Santa. Kid artist. Little matchgirl not dying. Baby muse...

ALL THIS CUTENESS TO SAY :

In other news, i'm going to be (like most people) off the map during xmas. I'm off to my parents in Ottawa tomorrow, then off to Québec city to visit my extended family. I've also got a mild cold. Feeling tired already. AT LEAST THERE'S FEAST!

Also, my cousin's visit yesterday was pretty fun. It was him, his sister and two japanese friends. The conversations went from english, to french, to japanese. The girls were very cute. One of them fell in love with my comic ROSE. The other was pretty amused by the french manga all over the apartment. I guess from her point of view, it's pretty weird?

In any case, happy holidays, you crazy kids!!

I never liked that story, but I love your idea of it.

(On that note, have you ever seen the Discworld's take on it? Basically death takes over the role of the "Santa" in the Discworld and comes across the match girl. Thinking this is a silly story, he takes the girl to the local policemen to get food and shelter and when the angels show up he says to them "Where were you earlier?")

Anyway, glad you had a good visit with your cousin. Have a good Christmas.

Awww, that was a wonderful Christmas comic. And, since The Little Match Girl always turns me into a sobbing mess, I liked your happy twist on it.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)

I have never read The Match Girl, and I really have no idea why, and I still love that Rezo and Toph are BFFs now!

Merry Christmas yourself, and your check will be in the mail this coming week!

I actually liked the Little Match Girl. Yeah, she did die, but considering what she was going through (having to sell matches all day in the cold, unable to go home until she sold them all, no compassion from living family at all!) and all, plus the whole buildup with her grandmother...I don't know, yeah, sad she died, but she didn't really die since her spirit went to go be with her grandmother, so in the end she was able to find happiness again.

...and then Disney had to make such a wonderfully sweet but sad animated version of it.

I think Hans Christian Andersen was just fascinated with death, really. He seemed to enjoy the theme of the spirit living on beyond the body.

Actually, I don't think he asks the angels.

He and his assistant just pelt them with snowballs.

The match girl story was incredibly sad. I like this version; she gets to give out muses instead of matches!

Have a good holiday around all the busy stuff!

You have made my day. As a child I always cried with matchgirl story... well as an adult too... Now I have an alternative end!

Merry Christmas!

Ichiban is right abaout Hans Christian Andersen. Little Mermaid, Steasdfast Tin Solier, Little Match Girl-all morbid endings. Well, the Danes do have a high suicide rate.

Anyway, loved your personal remake-adopted by Santa Clause and giving you the baby muse! Now we know when and where your muse became attached to you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Now, that's the way the story should have ended!
