Sorry for the lack of posts - I was unable to acces my LJ until late Saturday (because of those DDSO attacks or something). I am also rather depressed it seems.

I really can't shake off this feeling of suck and sad I'm having. I'm completely unmotivated. I feel pretty sad and silly and worthless. Like i'm disconnected from my body. I don't even really feel like drawing much anymore.

Es tu blues of the bleh?

Hopefully this will clear out soon. If not, help. This is pretty horrible and weird.

-----

In a more unbeat note (kinda) I re-watched The vision of Escaflowne during my weekend of utter Bleh. I really like that series better, now that I am seeing it again. It's a very sad series. Not just the ending where Van and Hitomi go their separate ways. The whole series seems dipped in sadness and nostalgia. The music is very beautiful. I used to be pretty puzzled by Hitomi's character (mainly, the fact that she left Van) but now that I see the series again I really understand her character better and I find that I like her a lot. And she left Gaia because her presence there meant impending Atlantian doom. Seems like a good reason to leave - protecting your love's world. Heck, apparently, they still get to see each other once in a while, so it's cool.

Dornkirk, the main villain, is apparently Isaac Newton. I mean really? Isaac Newton? Most. Obscur. Villain. Choice. Ever.

The songs are so pretty.

I think i'm tired. I shall go sleep!

Now is a good time to buy Escaflowne - Anime ledgends released a (cheaper) box set. If you want a giant robot in your home, the time is now!

I forgot to ask you if you might be interested in joining in the launch party! Did you see the info for it on the journal or would you like me to send it to you by email.

(I still think you're suffering from major burnout...)

I never did get to see all of Escaflowne back in the day. Aside from finding their long noses odd to look at, the series seemed interesting. I didn't get to finish since we were watching it at school (after school) and I was told we couldn't watch the second half because it was violent. So we moved on to Slayers TRY...which is also violent! Bah! I ought to seek it out one of these days.

You know, maybe I won't wait until Christmas to send you your gift. It would be great to kidnap you to go on vacation somewhere, but I can only afford paying for postage at this point. -_-;

Exactly! It's been rainy and dreary and not sunshiney at all then. You need the sun!

Or send our clouds back to Washington! We finally had some rain last night, but it's been too hot and clear! I miss being able to go outside and see without the glare of the sun, not to mention missing the wonderful smell of a fresh rain... (On the other hand, California seems to catch fire a lot. Are you sure you want to do that, or is this because of certain contests?)

(I might be. I'm not sure. I wish humans had a stress gauge or something)

The series is pretty interesting. It's got some violent bits, but I found the japanese original version toned it down (the english dub focuses more on the action parts - to the point of removing a whole episode because it's just an episode focused on the main girl and her girly stuff!) I'm sure you would like it - it's one of those classic animes that mixes genres in a really interesting way and despite all the tragedy surrounding the characters, the final message is still positive (final message = believe in the ones you love.)

Bah, don't worry about the gift thing. This is just a silly downer moment. It shall pass quickly.

(You do have a stress gauge. It's called feeling out of sorts with how you usually are. You have to actually listen to what your body is trying to tell you though, so a lot of people can't easily tell.)

I saw it fansubbed way back when, long before the edited version aired on television. I liked what I saw, even if it was weird hearing Pikachu's voice coming from Meryl(?) the catgirl. Oh goodness gracious...

Well, just know that I'll be hitting the trail for Idaho soon, and I won't have access to many things I intend to send off to peoples until December. If you don't mind waiting, then I won't worry about it. ^_-;

Give Escaflowne another chance soon. You know you'll like it. Destiny, knights and true love! What's not cool in that?

I am a patient woman.

Sorry to hear you are down my sweet :/ I go through that on occasion as well. I hope it passes soon and you are feeling upbeat and creative in the near future!

Love both of these pieces to! Awesome emotional tap on both! It's always cool when you can look at art and really feel the message given verses just seeing it you know? *hugs*

I think everyone goes thru it. It's just part of the creative angst.

I really like art that speaks for itself. Especially if the characters EYES do a lot of the talking. I love it. They do that a lot in manga. It's a really expressive style.

I sympathize with your bleh blues. Mine comes from a lack of employment opportunities around here. :P

The only time I saw Escaflowne was back when it was airing on the Saturday morning Fox Kids block with heavy edits (including changed music). I didn't like it then, but maybe I'd enjoy it if I saw the uncut version.

By the way, what's a "DDSO attack"?

Date: 2009-08-11 01:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com
Yeah, that really sucks for you! I was actually wondering how the job search was going...

check out the uncut version online. It's more 'shojo' then the english dub (that was aimed at younger male kids for some reason when the original was for a pre-teen to teen mixed audience...) and it's quite fun!

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ddos

It happened this eek to twitter, facebook and LJ. Itdidn't block everyone, just a few people.

Well, I currently have a part time job. But, sadly, full time work is hard to come by in California right now. I'm still looking, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

It's weird how so many kids networks in the mid-1990s collectively decided: "Hey, we need some cool Japanese cartoons for boys! But, instead of licensing a boys show, we should pick up the girliest shows we can find and chop them up until they vaguely resemble a dude's action show! It'll be like printing money!!"

Wow. I've never even heard the term DDOS attack before today. It sucks that some losers have noting better to do than "stick it to the man" by doing stuff like that. :P

Date: 2009-08-12 01:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com
Escaflowne is kindoff a mixed audience show. They could have left it alone and gyus would have still watched it just fine. There's like.... one episode of girlyness for every 3 awesome robot fighting scenes. But I guess any sign of girly is a weakness!

I agree about them picking up girly shows and turning them into guy shows. Card Captor, anyone? It's like they bought it not knowing at all who Clamp was (because if they did they would have stayed miles away from the show - homosexuality, magical powers, chinese religion, girlyness, frilly costumes, inter-aged love? YEAH. Young pre-teens of america with penises will love this.)

DDOS definitly screams loser out to piss you off for no reason.

I keep my fingers crossed for you! I really hope you get a job soon. But I would figure they would have plenty of jobs when it comes to taking care of kids. Or is California one of those states, like New York, where there is sectors with basically NO children at ALL?

I think part of the blame might be on the weather. There's been A LOT of rain this summer and not enough sun, plus as Diane said you may just be recovering from a burn out.

My advice, let yourself be able to relax (by watching movies, reading good books, etc) and maybe take a break from drawing.

And maybe this would help: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Reflexive/music-catch-2

It's a fun flash game that uses music.

Feeling pretty sad, silly, and worthless-fun for all ages! For myself, I blame it on my father's Slavic blue genes. Stupid things just get too tight sometimes.

That you drew these sketches must mean some recovery, though. That's evidence your creativity is still there, despite the bleh. You can express yourself coherently in more than one language and means. And look at all the people who care enough to respond! They wouldn't do that for silly and worthless people!

'Scuse me. The silly, old lady's blue genes are getting tight again. Disgusting. I gotta go grab me a musical instrument and play some minor tunes to loosen them up a little.

Awww, hon, you're anything BUT worthless! I for one enjoy having you as a part of my life. Everyone gets the doldrums every now and then. Usually they pass after a short period of time.

I've had kind of a sucky couple of days myself. The only working car we have broke down... while I was driving it. Scared the poo outta me! So now we have to find a way to get it fixed as well as hitching rides to work for a short time.

I think we both need a major do over!

Love ya, sweetie.

ETA: I know what I did to beat away the blahs... I watched something silly and fun! That's what you need to do! Take your mind off of stuff for a little while! It helped me quite a bit!

From: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Well, luckily I wasn't on a major roadway or anything when it happened, so there's at least that to be thankful for...

We're looking into what needs to be done exactly in order to get fixed and if we'll have enough money to get it fixed. Hopefully we will because we don't want to be indebted to people for rides for TOO long. That would be awkward.
