Colors, colors everywhere...
Jan. 14th, 2011 02:11 pmColoring is my big weakness right now. I seem to have mastered inking. But i'm still learning coloring. Even more so, i'm learning to develop coloring styles. Since not every style goes with every type of story. Link helped me figure out what type of coloring style to use for my upcoming printed comic "Psychopompes". I rather like it. It's similar to the "Wet Moon" graphic novels. Nothing but shades of blue-ish gray with some strong red elements.
It fits with the story. "Psychopompes" is the story of two people who died, woke up in the underworld and are told they need to go back up. Mostly, it focuses on their journey and their relationships.
I finished the two first pages. These pages show how the female protagonist, Kara, died. Be warned, it's pretty violent, so if you're a sensitive soul or at work, don't click this. The character is basically attacked and killed by a group of men.
( Strongly implied violent abuse below cut. Be WARNED. )
I find the inking and coloring works nicely. These pages are really powerful. I'm really happy with them. Kara opens her eyes to see the Underworld.
Only 60 more pages to go.
.......Woo.
