Coloring is my big weakness right now. I seem to have mastered inking. But i'm still learning coloring. Even more so, i'm learning to develop coloring styles. Since not every style goes with every type of story. Link helped me figure out what type of coloring style to use for my upcoming printed comic "Psychopompes". I rather like it. It's similar to the "Wet Moon" graphic novels. Nothing but shades of blue-ish gray with some strong red elements.

It fits with the story. "Psychopompes" is the story of two people who died, woke up in the underworld and are told they need to go back up. Mostly, it focuses on their journey and their relationships.

I finished the two first pages. These pages show how the female protagonist, Kara, died. Be warned, it's pretty violent, so if you're a sensitive soul or at work, don't click this. The character is basically attacked and killed by a group of men.

I find the inking and coloring works nicely. These pages are really powerful. I'm really happy with them. Kara opens her eyes to see the Underworld.

Only 60 more pages to go.

.......Woo.

Wow, that is really dark and intense. Not what I normally expect from you! I like it! You pull it off very well. That second one is an especially powerful image. The whole page, I mean. Damn. Bravo.

Can I make a really random comment? (more of a warning than a question I guess ^^)

This reminds me of the Hell portion of Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights triptych. I mean this as a compliment because it's dark and disturbing in the way that each piece of the background kind of morphs into the others. Bosch was also really good at making you feel disturbed with the piece while simultaneously making you want to sit and stare at it until you saw every detail. I think that's why this also reminds me of that triptych. It definitely does the job of setting the emotional bar of the reader where I assume you want it to be.

Told you it would be random!

My, this is powerful. The second page background is haunting, and certainly not in a feel-good way. Awesome work.

Very powerful imagery here! I like the black and white here and now to the red tortured past. I suck at color and its usage really, so I know how you feel! 0o
