The bigger room turned out to be the studio, with our two computer desks and stuff since we did need more space for the work stuff and that the bed fitted perfectly in the small room.
It's my last day at work tomorrow. YAY. Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty good job. Good pay, good people, work I do well... But I hated how far it was and how doing extra hours seemed almost mandatory every week to stay on top of the workload. I don't mind doing some once in a while, but when it's actually part of the routine... It just seems like a lot. Especially when I need more time to draw and stuff. Basically, this job was awesome, and it's a good job for someone who's priority is to get a kick ass career and invest all their time in it. But I guess my motivations and my aspirations are elsewhere. Working so much extra hours was starting to make me bitter. I think i'll miss the place though. Especially some of the people who worked there. some were such sweethearts!
Friday, i'm going to plan out my return to Montréal and the things I want to do when I get there. Saturday i'm just going to relax and shop for a few things that I need.
My friends are awesome. My friend Fauve and her fiancé Other Pascal gave me a little goodbye card with a little (very useful) present. Some other friends threw their money together and got me an amazing book/sketchbook bag where the words 'Marche ou rêve' are written (that's french for 'Walk or Dream.' It's also a pun of 'Marche ou Crève' which is an expression that sounds almost the same and is a classic litterature/movie line saying 'Walk or violently die'... Then english equivalent of the pun would be 'Go (insert location) or bust!'). My friend Tama is getting rid of a few things i'm going to go pick up on friday. Thanks you guys for all your wonderful gifts.
I just learned I have to come back next weekend (October 10th) for the Gatineau Comic book festival as I am part of the artist crew with the ROSE publisher. Hey, it could be fun. We'll see. I usually go to the festival every year to score a few books anyways. What's the harm of going and being behind a table for once?
