My little punkette

Adorable punk mom was amazing. I can't believe the people I meet on the subway. sometimes I feel I should just sit in a cart for the whole day and draw all the people I see (probably should exit once or twice during rush hours. It gets kinda crazy).

It seems the San Diego Comic Con is THE place to be this weekend. Tumblr is full of amazing news about upcoming episodes for Adventure time, Korra, My little pony, and upcoming movies and lovely actors, and comics... Seriously, I can see why people love this con. Also, thanks to the SDCC, I learned that apparently Disney is working on an Oz-themed movie centered around the character of the Wizard. Check out the site for the trailer/details :  http://disney.go.com/thewizard/

I'm sure Disney himself would be happy to see this happening (he was a die-hard Oz fan). I'm not sure if the movie will be good, it looks a bit... fanfic-y for my taste. But it's got the potential to be really cool. And the visuals look amazing. I'm pretty sure i'll go see this in theatres, if only because Oz is obviously an obsession of mine.

Aside from that, it's incredibly hot today. We keep getting mini heat waves. Gosh, Montreal, if only you weren't a tiny ciment island.

My boyfriend Link just went off to visit Japan with his twin brother for 2 weeks. They are having an epic bromance trip. In Japan. I'm jealous, but I hope they will have a nice time :D

I also FINALLY managed to get enough free time and an appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed by the end of August. I can't wait. I need to remove them all. They hurt. They give me massive headaches (I never used to have headaches). I really, really can't wait.

Sketching...And other things

Today Marco left. He was Link's old roomate in Toronto and had just spent 2 years teaching in Tokyo. He really loves Japan, and he loved being back. He brought us one of those wind chimes you always see in anime. I love the sound it makes. This was a really fun visit for everyone. I loved it.

In other Japan related news, Satoshi Kon died. He's the director that gave us awesome movies like Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika. I'm sad he died. I was hoping to see so many more movies made in his distinctive style. If you've never seen his movie, definitely check them out. Most of them drabble in the strange. But I recommend Tokyo Godfathers to people who don't like mind screws and love stories full of love and good cheer. That movie just really tugs the heartstrings over and over.

I'm just working on Namesake pages right now. And sketching on the side, silly things like the ones on top.

A cute Medusa, some Aang and Katara fluff (trying to meditate!) and Jasmine Talking to the Genie. I always wondered if those two ever really interacted. You know, in the tv series or the sequels or something. I always imagined them as bestest buddies, but I can't even recall if they ever had a significant conversation...

Yo-ho-ho!

Tonight is chore night! I need to do my wash, my dishes, maybe even go buy some food.

A good friend is apparently visiting. From Japan. I'm excited. It's the Toronto roomate, some of you may recall, Marco.

I hope he brough me something weird and Japanese. *laughs* I love Japan weirdom.

After chores today, I think i'm going to sit back, relax, color my Scott Pilgrim image and possibly cut more Psychopompes pages.

I was mulling with the idea of taking commissions again. What do you guys think? Would anybody here be interested in commissions?  I don't think I would charge a lot. I'm just thinking of accumulating a bit of money. Possibly for a trip.

I'm  starting to feel better today. Link is awesome you guys. He's a very attentionate boyfriend to a girlfriend in pain.

Another "Faunlita"

Why is this so fun to draw? I don't even knoooooow. It makes no sense!

When Vladimir Nabokov wrote "Lolita", I bet he wasn't expecting to inspire Japanese fashion movements.

I'm pissed off. My carpets are now all smelly. Due to the leaking, yellow water. I want to go complain to my landlord and pin the cleaning bill for the carpets on him. Oh, my beautiful middle eastern carpet! Noooo! I'm really hoping nothing is dripping on my drawing table while i'm away. My fury will be limitless. Link thinks the elak is due to them emptying out the radiators upstairs and doing a half-assed job. Awesome.

In funner news, i'm going to go see Inception this weekend.  Seems like a good trippy movie. I want to see it.

In just occurred to me that, since I don't have cable, I won't be able to watch the new Futuramas or the new Avatar episodes when they come out. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I think there's a few places I can find them online, but most of those places don't allow you to watch if you are in Canada. *sniffles*
