The Suck is strong within this one.

It was a pretty horrible day yesterday. The day before I had workd 13 hours to finish preparing an event at work. So I dragged in myself for another day of work bright and early on tuesday morning despite that. It was a pretty bad day. One of those days where you feel deeply bored & tired but you have a ton of work to do and you kinda fight the sweet sweet sleep all day long. I also walked all the way to a clinic to get my Health insurance card renewed only to be told then even though I had all the required documents, I needed the letter they sent me to prove that they asked me to renew it. It doesn't matter if the card is clearly saying it's expiring, i'm obviously cheating. I really need this card to go to the dentist now... my teeth hurt....

General lots of work, little sleep and technology failling on me didn't help. My work computer went boom. I just discovered my answering machine hasn't worked in a month.

Can I use MSN on a mac? My home pc has been down for a month and I miss online chatting. I have IM but I have more people on MSN. Is it possible to integrate both on ichat?

Oh, and the best part about yesterday - woman bitching about our phone message being bilingual with french first. We are in Ottawa, so obviously english should go first, according to her. Since she lives on the Quebec side, she whined that she had to DEAL with french first all the time and that she was amazed and outraged that she also had to deal with french first in Ottawa. Because after all, french is a horrible, horrible language. Long story short, she left a pretty bad and angry  message describing to us why using french in Ottawa FIRST is bad because french is useless since obviously, nobody speaks it in Ottawa and we just keep it for appearances and it should always come in second. Or not at all. Because she added that it made our message long and annoying.

Never mind that everyone in the office in french canadian. Yes, nobody was offended by this. At all.

*grumbles*

MAN, I miss spending a whole day JUST PAINTING. Need a break from B.S. and a hug.

*huggles* "Vacation from stupid people" should be a work benefit. (That woman about the message just boggles my mind. What the hell.)

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Gah, it should. (Nasty woman. We all laughed at her message, it was so ridiculous)

She's like a phone-troll!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
OGM, she is!

Language issues are so touchy in this area.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure you don't need Windows to use MSN. Don't you just download it online?

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried but it keeps messing up for some reason :(

[identity profile] dqbunny.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, you can most definitely use MSN on a Mac. You can even use Adium, a program that will let you run more than one IM program at the same time.

*gives you a HUGE HUG*

And is that Anlise? ANLISE!!!!! Been such a long time! *snuggles her*

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh, i'll look into that Adium thing. Neat.

Yeah, I miss the secondworld! We should restart it up some day. It died because the story was too complex, people dropped out and everyone was generally busy with life. I though of restarting it with a single quest to quest basis. That might be cool.

[identity profile] dqbunny.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
We should! The characters are just far too awesome to let die. I know I'm in a much better place to do it now.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I found Adium right away! It looks awesome! Thanks for the tip giving to this useless PC user XD.

They are so awesome. I miss Renge and her sarcasm. I had developped this simpler story where, after the sands of time got stolen, paladins formed groups of *cogs* as they call them, which are a type of mercenary group founded by the paladin order who travel with the said paladin and helps them help people who are troubled by the time gaps, time sicknesses or even by anything else. Victoria being now a child, she is considered unfit to serve, but she begs the order to give a chance. She has one year to form a group of Cogs and travel the world to help people and prove her worth. Too bad no one really takes her seriously. Except a Sablarian in exil...

I think this story could work really well. I should take the time to reboot the secondworld.

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
...I think everyone just wants to sucker me into playing a paladin again.. At times like this, the only thing to do is to GO ALONG WITH IT! I am IN whenever you resurrect the game! ^_^

[identity profile] earthstar-moon.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I third this idea! I miss playing as Cara. I'm ready whenever everyone else is. ^_~

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Seems like I have a lot of backing up! I should get on that :)

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Do it! I shall give you plushie love that I just thought of that has nothing to do with Secondworld but everything to do with your future!

*insert mega ultimate deadly laugh of villainous doom here*

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
..wha? Okay, i'm all for new plushies but i'm...scared now.

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't be scared, I think it's a pretty awesome idea! You might want to question my sanity for wanting to work with certain fabrics to make the idea reality though...

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
You're not making me a mini yeti carpet are you? That's evil fabric.

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I might have even left Adium on Artemis, I can't remember. It is a very nice program though since it does integrate many different IM clients into one. (I just don't use it often since I get the scarier fans and such outside of AIM.) Plus, MSN is usually a punk anyway, but through Adium it behaves. I know I downloaded the client long enough to get registered, but as soon as it worked on Adium I deleted the annoying thing.

...I've been dying to start up Secondworld again! I didn't want to say anything since you've been busy, but I keep looking at my icons, fics and whatnot and wondering, "When will we be playing you again?" For this reason I can't replace my icons. I miss that silly world!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll check that out! Thanks for the tip, so much!

...Yeah, i'm so damn busy. Yet, the secondworld tugs at me too (it's so cool!) I was really thinking about the new storyline type. (I typed it down to meg above)... The thing is, if we work in quests, it would be more like a D&D campaign where for a month we write a certain quest or something. And in between every quest we can take a little break. This would work a lot better with people's schedules... And feel simpler and more relaxed.

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, even within D&D it's possible to have the main goal known, but you have to work toward it by doing the smaller quests. We actually did have something like that happen in Relina's party. At one point we had to fight off golems (that hit really hard!) in order to claim a precious stone of some sort, but it wasn't until quite a while later in the campaign the stone was revealed to be able to cause time travel. (The DM used it to fix mistakes we made during the game, such as letting certain party members who actually knew the main plot die. Whoops...)

I think keeping the game small will help, too. Stick with the 'core gamers' who are here to have fun and work together, not anyone who tends to just slow things down since they don't want to go along with it. -_-;;

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, obviously, at some point, stuff with engage into a higher goal, but I should have started with smaller goals rather then jump in with the huge storyline right away.

Aw, be fair. *laughs* I think everybody was willing to play and follow the story. It just got too complicated and weird at some point with the huge plots and subplots. I think everyone tried their best. It's true that some people are more gamers then others though. I for one, am totally not a gamer when it comes to D&D and video games

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I was having fun with it as is, but oh well. I don't think it depends on whether one is a gamer so much as how well they can follow a story. O:)

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, and oblivious customers are... Gah! You can never win! It reminds me of the baker telling me never to speak to people in German since many would be offended, but also at the customer that mouthed off and told the cake decorator she didn't understand English just because she had an accent. The meanness and stupidity of some people...

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
..........Stupid racism.

*BIGGEST HUG IN THE WORLD!!!*
Also, maybe this will make you feel better? :D

*Tries not to think WHY it took so long to get the toaster back*

*grumbles about costumer* If she hates French so much, she better never go to Europe then. I've lost count on how many countries speak French there.

It's part of living in a bilingual country, if she doesn't like it she could just move to a deserted island and that way she doesn't have ever worry about hearing a language she doesn't know ever again. Good grief. -_-;

I'm sorry you had a rough day. *hugs* Not sure if this will cheer you up, but I found it amusing.

...French is really popular in europ. It used to be the language of culture and business. Then americans gained economic control and changed that. No mind that it's been that way for centuries. The americans had the money.

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
The bilingual thing:

We have sort of the same deal here in Florida (obviously not with French though). I mean, true we're an English speaking country and those people who move here should ideally learn to speak it with some proficiency in order to communicate with others in the general populace. Unfortunately, there are those who refuse to do so and i makes things... interesting for those of us who don't speak Spanish.

I have no issue whatsoever with wanting to continue to speak your native language and retain your culture. I'm all for it, but at least make an effort to learn the dominant language of the area you're living in. It's a bit of a courtesy.

And those of us who come across people who don't speak English: be patient and courteous? I mean, cut them a little slack. They come here because they want a better chance at life. Just like we all do.

Did I completely go off track here? Sorry...

*gets off of soapbox*

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
The difference between Ottawa and Florida I think is that we aren't in an english speaking country. We have two official languages. Especially in ottawa, you're always suppose to have both on everything. The order of which goes first however is up to you, or at least I think it is. The thing is, we had an english message following. She just didn't want to wait for it. We NEVER had a problem with any other customer and the company has had this message for years.

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
She probably just needed something to complain about. Some people are like that. Go figure...

If it helps any, the comic makes a good giggle fit. ^^

It's because you make us look bad! Stupid french with your sexy rrrrrrrrrr's and your pamplemousse!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Bad, bad pamplemousse.

That lady called back twice today too. Argh.
