Some movie black and white...

Aren't they cute? I just finished this little banner in photoshop. It's a "practice run" to get my photoshop skillz back (and they did come back. I am now at the same level of sucking at Photoshop as I was before. *sigh* Link, you gotta teach me some 'toshop moves, please). This drawing is based on season 2 of Avatar. The costumes are.... approximative. I could have gotten some reference shots, but I didn't really feel like it. The fact that Zuko is being walked on doesn't really express any type of specific hatred I have for the character, though I do kinda find him annoying until he decides to turn good (He reminds me of Gargamel...). He's mostly getting walked on because...Well, that's pretty much how I see him getting treated in season two, poor guy. I wanted to do shadows and stuff at first, but since I kinda wanted this to be a banner of such (and therefore small) I flattened out the colors. Mai is my favorite in this banner. The character's styles are inspired by a Quebecois-French comic book called "Les Nombrils" (the bellybuttons). I'm still waiting for book 4 of that series. When? WHEN?

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging messages about ass-to-artists guy. Turns out, he didn't want to pay at all and was shocked I asked. So I terminated my engagement with him permanently. I mean, really? Jerkface. But now I have ideas on how to formulate my contracts better, thanks to you guys.

I've got a few drawing projects I want to get done over the next few weeks. Lo and behold:

- Did I mention, pages of Rose?
- a few comics I have ideas for, and of course a few memes I got tagged for (seriously guys, I feel obligated to draw these XD)

-I also plan to sell this painting to a friend: (sexy mermaids mwahahaha)

-And send the Gigaslave Painting to it's buyer. Sorry for the delay Mike, but apparently the post office close to my job doesn't ship international (....I was like....what?)

Am I busy girl or what?
I'm off to Montréal this weekend though. I got a plush bird and I boyfriend I need to torture with it.

Edit - I really screwed myself over with this Avatar banner. Not that I drew one for season 2, I wanna draw one for season 1 where Yue would be chased by the Gaang, followed by Zuko, Iroh, Zaoh and a big seas spirit of doom. And then i'd have to draw season 3. Gaang in firenation costumes + Suki + Zuko Fleeing a comet Firelord Ozai is riding.

Sorry for not commenting about the asshat guy, but everyone else seemed to make really good comments and offer great advice. I would just be agreeing. He really was unbelievable though. Can't believe he was expecting not to pay. I'm surprised you were so well contained especially when you think of how inconsiderate he was.

Cute banner and good luck with all the projects. You have a lot on your plate but I know you'll get through it.

Man, so busy, and yet you still poke your head online? (Yes, I saw you log on earlier. I was just checking my e-mail and iChat logged in automatically so I wasn't even paying attention to it. Instead I was busy with lotion, then I suddenly noticed your icon, but as soon as I fumbled with the mouse -again, I was putting lotion on- to try and ninja attack you, you log off! Probably just as well.)

What the guy did isn't so unusual, sadly. I used to always sew requested dolls and ask for payment when complete, but then one time someone made a request and was just shocked she would have to actually pay to get a doll! I made sure to always let people know they had to actually do so before seeing anything from me. A lot of people think they can just get everything for free. (Little do they know, that only applies to friends!) It ticks me off to think about it, really. Did you already send him the requested drawings?

P.S. - I did finally see Avatar for sale, but it's EXPENSIVE. I'll probably hold off again, or maybe just buy one season every month or so, depending on how many hours I get at the bakery... -_-;

Ack, the doujinshi. I need to add that to my do do list. The stupid part is that I had what? Two pages left to draw? Bad, bad Isa!

...Man I wonder is which box that doujinshi is actually. I still need to open all my drawing boxes and put them away in my brand new filing cabinet (I didn't have one before!) I guess this will be motivation to start diving in the papers. Too bad you're not around i'm sure you'd love helping me with the diving!

You can keep it in Canadian currency, really. I'm starting up a stash of Canadian money for the next time I visit anyway. (I already have over $15 set aside!) I don't know when I'll be up again. Maybe next year when Vancouver hosts the Olympics! That would be awesome!

Bad, indeed! And yes, I'd love to go digging (gently) through your stuff to get it all organized. Heck, maybe then you could come help me organize my books and DVDs on the shelves I need to go buy... It is worth doing, but taking the time to do so is the hard part. Maybe if we keep bugging each other, something will get done this year. ^_-;

*patpat* You certainly are busy, but the artist bug demands drawing. Anyways, that painting is very neat (and kind of scary, with the mermaids dragging people under!).

The mermaid stuff is based on britain (I think, at least from that area) mermaids, who would pull people under and have sex with them as they drowned. It's creepy fairy tales, but you know me, I love a good creepy. I feel bad for the two lovers being separated though :(

That is adorable and yeah it does describe Zuko's role well in that season. I think the whole fandom cheered when he FINALLY turned good. *Sigh* Took him long enough.

For Slayers Gears, you'll be happy to know that I do have the rough drafts of chapter 2 and 3 done, I'm just waiting for Stu to be done his project so then he'll finally have time to proofread/edit for me.

And good, I'm not the only one drawing steampunk princesses. XD I drew a couple last night myself.

I did a lot of sketches and cut pages. I need to start drawing them. I'm wondering, do we want to ink pages for SG, or keep a pencil look (like WCMI and Megatokyo?)

Hmm..not sure, but it doesn't matter to me if we keep a pencil look or go for an ink look. I would be equally as happy if they were just drawn in pencil. So, decide what's which option works best for you. ^_~

Je devrais pouvoir voir Fauve en fin de semaine, mais ça va sûrement dépendre de à quelle heure j'arrive le samedi. C'est compliqué, j'y vais juste 2 jours, et en général, j'ai des devoirs en plus de voir mes parents et ma soeur. Mais là, après aujourd'hui, plus d'école! :D
