Damn unicorns...

And people wonder why easter and halloween are my favorite fake holidays. I can take in a lot of sugar. And I love it. really, it's a miracle I still have teeth. Oh Cadbury, you're magically delicious.

Work: In other news, work sucks this week. It's my week to do the events, so all my evenings are pretty much spent wearing a suit among various business people when I would rather be home in front of the tv or drawing. Or well, part of the job. If anything, this will allow me to accumulate "on the job" hours so that may take days off later.

Anime North: I discovered (and all you cats planning to go to anime north this year should check this too) that the long may break (aka Victoria day) is NOT on the same weekend as Anime North, as it usually is. I've asked my boss if I could take days off on that day and it's like pulling teeth! I get vacation days, so i'm allowed, but she doesn't want me to take them where I want to. Even though i'm asking a month in advance. This is the second time I propose to her a vacation date and she's not willing to let me take it, though she keeps asking me to give her a date so that she may incorporate it in the planning. My boss is weird.

Random: Aside from that, friends and myself are planning to go poke fun at Dragonball : the EPIC movie this friday, as it is the premiere. Prepare the LOL.

I caved and bought the first season of avatar: the last airbender. Oh, Nickelodeon, for 60$, I hope you do not deceive.

I,m also trying to draw batman villains right now. I love batman villains. He has the BEST villains. I'm trying to transform Bruce Timm's beloved designs (from the 90's Batman : the animated series) into The Dark Knight Versions of themselves. Okay, scarecrow and Joker and Two-face are done, but I really, really want to design Dark Knight Harley quinn and Poison Ivy. I'll let you guys see how this turns out.

Only reference picture of all the baddies I could find. And it's TINY!! I have larger references for their faces.

...$60 for the first season of Avatar? Holy wow. o_0; At Target the box sets don't cost that much at all. But I can attest that it's definitely one of the best animated TV series ever created.

I agree that Batman does have very awesome villains. :D I shouldn't say the best since I'm biased towards others...

Always loved Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn as a duo.

I think it was 60$ because it's canadian. The series is most likely cheaper in the USA. Of course, I could have bought them at Wal-Mart or something where they would have been cheaper, but I always feel awful for buying there. I think i'll get the next 2 on amazon. It's 20$ cheaper.

I hear a lot of good things about avatar, hence why I chose to see it! If you people are lucky, i,ll become obsessed enough for fanart! However, right now, not really knowing anything about the series, I admit i'm very attacted by the character of Toph (Troph? I always forget). I hope she is as badass as the fanarts of her depict her to be.

Ivy and Harley = Hot baddy love.

[identity profile] amelia-seyroon.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, of course. The tax rate is higher in Canada. D: Is Walmart that bad? Yeah, get the other two sets! It'll be worth the money!

Oh, I would love to see Avatar fan art from you. :D It's everywhere, very hard to ignore. XD My friend does wonderful Avatar chibi fan art, they're so cute. Toph! Toph Bei Fong! My favorite character! <3~ She rocks (literally speaking). XD She is! She is! The most badass twelve-year-old to ever hit TV! Both her and Katara, actually.

Except I can't say the same for the upcoming live-action movie. x__x Don't even get me started...

Lulz, Ivy/Harley for the win. <3~

The live action movie seems to have the fans in uproar. But then again, it might actually be good since Avatar is american to start off with. The animation studio and the creators are around to influence the creation.

[identity profile] amelia-seyroon.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the main problem lies with the casting...>_0;

At this point, while I can't speak for the entire Avatar community, you'd be better off sticking to the animated series. But when the movie actually comes out...we'll see what the results are. >/

TOPH KICKS ASS!

THAT IS ALL!

YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. I DON'T FANGIRL EASILY.

Good to know *laughs*

Toph is awesome and I think you'll love Uncle Iroh. It will be worth watching. I can't wait to hear your reaction from it.^_~

Also, I hope you won't have much trouble getting the days off for Anime North.

Also, Batman does have the best villains, and I think you need to see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7879FCfzjcc

...*giggle* the best batman eveeeerrrr

I hope I can take days off for anime north. I already told her I already bought my tickets. She's just being weird or something. She TOLD me I could have any day off I wanted during that month...arrrh.

[identity profile] annekay.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
a note on microwaves and peeps:

back in highschool we used to have a "sport" we called Peep Jousting
basically you put 2 peeps in a microwave with toothpicks in them (as the lance) facing each other and then you turn on the microwave and the first one to stab the other wins :)
you can even place bets on them. great easter fun

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
That. Is. So. Awesome.

I'm totally doing that. Tonight.

[identity profile] dqbunny.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
*giggles* I think this describes me as well. I can get very drunk off Cadbury eggs if I'm not careful. Of course, it's only out of respect of Mike's mum I don't do this to torture Mike ... at this time.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Cadbury eggs are strange. But also magically delicious.

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
....fake holidays?

*rocks herself in a corner*

Although granted, Cadbury chocolate is very good! (So sad that the Canadian version is still tastier than the stuff we get here under the same label!) I just can't handle more than one Cadbury egg since they're so sweet. The mini Cadbury eggs though (the cream-filled, not the candy-coated chocolate eggs by the same name) are amazing! I'm only seeing them at Wal-Mart though, so I've not bought any. Wal-Mart food stuffs always taste off to me. XP

I am a total fiend for jellybeans though! I'm hoping to get home on Friday and find that my parents got me some. They're a must for Easter!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Fake holiday in the sense that we don't really get days off, even though it's on the holiday calendar list. I guess they expect people to ask for days off on those days more then others...

I should send you some kinders, one day.

Ohhh, jelly beans. I love those XD

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, they make you guys work Easter up in Canada? I've always had it off. It's a pretty important religious holiday for many (myself included) and only the third holiday where family gathers for a large dinner. We always have scalloped potatoes for Easter... Ooh, man, I definitely need to get home in time for Easter! We did have one year where the baker thought it would be a good idea to be open on Easter, but my boss and the rest of us quickly shot him down. There are just some holidays where people don't go out to spend their money.

But, I do like working on Halloween. At least in places that encourage families to Trick-or-Treat in the area, it's fun to see everyone and to give out candy. Plus, working in places that allow employees to also dress up is another plus. :D

Kinder Eggs! I do have a weakness for those! I guess I did buy quite a few when I was in Toronto, didn't I? It was so hard bringing them home and giving them away to family and friends.. I love that chocolate. ^_^; (Sometimes Uwajimaya imports them from Canada. I hope they do again in the future. I'm still irked they got banned here in the U.S.!)

On the jellybean front, if you ever see large jellybeans - get them! They are amazing! XD

[identity profile] filia-umbrae.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I would definitely go with Amazon. Much cheaper, without selling your immortal soul to Walmart.

Also, for good references, check out popcultureshock.com/timm

Mostly Harley and Ivy, and some other DC ladies, but it's kind of a neat source.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I like my immortal soul where it is XD

The bruce timm website! I loved that website. It's been down for a week though... Don't know why! (figures, the one week I'd want reference shots!)

Harley is such a fun character. And she was created for the animation series too! She was so popular she became comic canon shortly after. So I guess Bruce Timm would like to draw her; he's her first artist XD
auriga: (contemplating)

[personal profile] auriga 2009-04-08 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Cadbury chocolate is delicious. ♥ Also, hollow chocolates are such a tease! I've never had peeps before, though...what are they like?

As for getting your vacation days, it is pretty weird that she won't let you take off the days you want. How are you supposed to plan things otherwise? Anyways, keep pulling! I really hope you can get them.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I like hollow chocolate. It tastes different then full bunnys (or maybe it's just because all the full bunnies I got as a kid were cheap grade and yucky!)

Damn right i'll keep pulling! If only because I already PAID for my tickets and I don't want my money to go in a hole.
auriga: (munchies)

[personal profile] auriga 2009-04-08 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh...Yet most of the hollow chocolate I ate tasted cheap and nasty--except for Lindt! I'll gladly eat hollow Lindt chocolate bunnies. ^__^

Exactly! I was sure to book my time off as soon as I could, but last year I was paranoid it would get messed up. Plus we don't want your money to be wasted!

[identity profile] inverce.livejournal.com 2009-04-08 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Theres a super awesome 'Batman the Animated Series' book that came out in the late 90s? And is all about the character designs etc. You should look for it, I'm pretty sure its still in print.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Neat. Thanks.

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhh, chocolate. If I ever become allergic to chocolate, I think there would be no reason to continue living.

I too have a MASSIVE sweet tooth. I discovered I have FOUR Ziploc bags full of various candy I've acquired. It's kinda scary.

Ooooh! Batman villains!! AWESOME!!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You always have an accurate icon for all my posts. How do you do that?

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2009-04-10 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
It's my special power... :DD

Truthfully, I have 125 of them, so odds are at least one of them would work.

This particular gem is from [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda. You should read some of her stuff sometime. Seriously.

[identity profile] isabiunleashed.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
PEEPS ARE THE MOST AWESOMEST CANDIES EVER!!!!!
and i'm free sunday. But aren't you easter-ing it up with your family that day?

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2009-04-09 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Peeps are fun to explode XD

I think the family easter-ing is on saturday. It is still unconfirmed. But it seems flexible.

[identity profile] vovat.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not as much of a chocolate fan as most of the world seems to be, but I do like some of it from time to time. My favorite Easter candies are jellybeans and malted milk eggs. I also like Peeps, even though I kind of feel wrong for eating them.
