The boy who lived and was extremely popular.

Saw the final Harry Potter, and plan to go back for a second viewing. Generally, the movie was good. A good finish to the series. Could have done without the creepy evil make-up epilogue, but the rest was great. Loved Neville, Luna and McGornagall. I find Radcliffe to be a mediocre actor, but I can say that he knows how to do two things really, really well : amazement and fear. So that came in handy in this movie! I liked the flashbacks, but felt kinda sad that we didn't get Dumbledore's. Also, the Ravenclaw ghost is lovely. :D what did you guys think of it?

Have some Snape and Lily goodness. Those poor kids!

Oh, we see Luna?! *~*

I'm waiting for the blu-ray release, I'm in no hurry to see it. >D

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, plenty of Luna for everyone!

I LOVE your comic Snape. XDD While you do make some good points about the Snape memory sequence...I think it was my favorite scene in the movie. It actually made me cry!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a pretty good scene too.

[identity profile] brendala.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
I need to get caught up on the movies. I never got into them because I liked the books a lot better and I couldn't help nit-picking the films. But I'm VERY curious to see how the two Deathly Hallows movies handle the bloodbath that was Book 7.

[identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm in the same boat. I loved the books, but after the third movie (which I really didn't like for many reasons), I just stopped caring about the movies. I ought to get caught up one of these days. Hopefully I'll actually catch a t.v. marathon.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Fairly well. The scenes are ordered differently. Turns out pretty good.

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
Haaaa, I now want "MORE LENS FLARE!" to be the new catchphrase heard everywhere!

Oh, I love your gangly Snape and pretty Lily!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahah! It should be!

[identity profile] autumnestuary.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Neville was so badass in this movie, I don't even know, man. And I also loved how they did Helena Ravenclaw, it was one of my favorite parts.

And oh god, I will never be able to watch remember that scene now without picturing Snape using iMovie or something. *snort*

Your drawing of Snape and Lily is gorgeous, and very tragic. ;___;

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Helena Ravenclaw... made me want to cry... poor thing.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Snape and Lily T.T! Such a sad story. She tried so hard, but in the end, he just pushed her too much, even though he really did love her.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I don't know if they would have ended up together, even without the Voldemort stuff.

[identity profile] nuitsongeur.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
This is awesome! :D

Btw, I was totally thinking the same thing too. :P Snape and Windows Movie Maker? Hahaha. Priceless.

LEEEENS FLAAAARE

[identity profile] starmetal-oak.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought young Snape looked like edward scissorhands, without the scissorhands, lol. It kind of freaked me out a bit.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
But Edward is so much paler!! :D

[identity profile] inverce.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally want to see more of young Snape art! ;)

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
And I want to draw more. Makes everyone happy!

[identity profile] missbutters.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen the movie yet. I hope I can keep this comic out of my mind when I do. XD
Love the second drawing.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, I just ruined it for you. I,m sorry.

[identity profile] missbutters.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
It's okay, I needed a laugh anyway :D

[identity profile] angelchan-2004.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
MORE LENS FLARE!!!

I should just man up and watch the rest of them! D: I have read all the books, but have only watched up to movie four... huh.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that means you didn't see any of the really fun ones. :D

[identity profile] psychosongtress.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Snapes memories was the best part of the movie. When It showed him finding Lily after her death, and him holding her sobbing, with harry crying in the background, I died a little.

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, baby harry slayed me.

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2011-07-19 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I really didn't see an issue with the way the actors were made up for the epilogue. I mean, you could tell they were older, but not so old that they couldn't passably be in their 30's. I mean, I'm almost 35 and I get mistaken for being in my 20's all the time. Besides, it wouldn't have been the same if they had older actors playing them as older. I mean, these kids have been playing these characters for 10 years. To me, they ARE the characters.

But, everyone is entitled to how they feel. I would see it again in a heartbeat, but that's just me. I didn't have too many issues with the minor things that were changed like Harry snapping the Elder Wand in half and tossing the pieces. It was technically his to do with as he saw fit. Maybe I need a second viewing to catch some of the things I missed. I might've been slightly delirious since I went to see it the day after I got out of the hospital, lol.

Harry waits for no one!!!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually loved Harry breaking the wand that way. Because it was so anticlimatic. Like "yeah, i,ve been doing epic stuff all my life. Kinda tired of it." *snaps*

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2011-07-22 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, yep.

[identity profile] pinkwa.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Snape and Lily forever <3

Hearts all around.

[identity profile] spankingfemme.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ha ha funny Snape idea! XD I'm not horribly up to date with my HP, but all the buzz and it being done makes me want to take the dive :)

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-21 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a good dive to take.

[identity profile] engelen.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
I think some of the effects were kind of terrible. Same for the make-up.
I don't know why, but I wasn't really excited about this. Maybe if I rewatch all of the movies and re-read the books...

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't feel that excited about it until some of the screen shots really got to me. I guess the right element is required?

[identity profile] cartoonchic.livejournal.com 2011-07-23 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only ever gotten up to the fifth book, and that was many years ago. For some reason I stopped reading.
But when we were at the cottage we went to the drive-in without knowing what was playing and ended up watching this movie. I actually got pretty into it (despite mostly not having a CLUE what was going on.)

I think I must have stopped reading the books because I can't handle all the emotion. I get overly attached to fictional plots and characters. I would have cried for every single death!
And then I got so sad at the end for some reason, when they're watching their kids go off to Hogwarts, and that's the end of the harry potter saga I know so many people grew up with.
Sorry for rambling!!
and omg, lol'd so hard at the comic when Snape's editing his past - MORE LENS FLARE!

[identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com 2011-07-24 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
MY PAST NEEDS MORE SHINY.

I think that's the cool thing about characters that grow up with you as opposed to characters who keep the same age and have a neverending franchise. The limited amount of time you have with them and their evolution makes them feel real and precious.

[identity profile] cartoonchic.livejournal.com 2011-07-26 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
SO TRUE.
I have always had issues when it comes to aging and growing up :p, so that's probably why such endings are always bittersweet to me.
