Putting the myth and mythology

It's official, I have too many fanfiction writers in my friends.

This comic is inspired by the myth of Persephone, for those of you who might not know.

So autumn and it's unpredictable nature is upon us. We have days that were positively heatwaves followed by windy, stormy cold. Brrr.

Animals are preparing to hibernate and me and Link had to deal with some pretty bold squirrel invasion. It's no secret that our apartment as old, really crappy windows. It's one of the reasons why we don't pay for the heating.  Nobody would want to pay to heat up an apartment this badly isolated. In front of the balcony, we have a large tree. And next to the balcony door, two windows. One had a mosquito screen and the other didn't. So we never opened the one without one. The mosquito screen on the other was broken (it could be lifted from the bottom) but we figured it will still keep bugs out. We didn't consider large tree-dwelling rodents. For this past week, whenever I cam home, I always found the bread bag open, on the floor. I always assumed it was Link hitting and dropping it while making his coffee. But then one day, I walked in and saw squirrels collecting said bread, and escape under the screen.

I taped the screen down on both sides using duct tape. They chewed through it. Link caught them escaping with two apples and more bread. Link ended up trying to sew the screen back in place. But now that the weather is cooler, we just closed that window. Bold squirrels. I tell you. I' all for them getting food for the winter, but i'd rather not share too much of my food with them.

It's been really windy these past few days. It feels good to feel the air move.

I need to hit the art store soon. Isa needs supplies.

Generally stuff is good. Work stuff and some activity on my family side was a little sad, though I won't really mention it here. But I assure you guys that i'm doing well and i'm a good mood, despite the temperature dropping.

Nothing really. Makes for creative conversations!

I don't think we really have a mice problem. This is pretty much the only rodent activity i've seen or smelled. Most stuff is put away anyways. Bread and Apples are the only exception (and the squirrels managed to break a plastic container to get nuts).

Plastic means nothing to a rodent. ^_- They can chew through metal if they need to to get at what they're after. (And nuts are the Holy Grail of squirrel food. You'd dare keep nuts from them? Ha ha!)
