About time!

Well, yeah, I know, i'm slow at this update thing XD

What happened this past few days? Well, I finally saw Pirates of the Carribean 3. I liked it.

No actual spoilers in the following text.

The character of Elisabeth, up to now annoying to me, we actually quite appealing! Though I think they pushed the growth of her character to much. I'm still a fan of Norrington (wah, poor norrie!) and I think the ending, though sad, was pretty good for a trilogie end. I hope they won't make a number four. I didn't like how the scenario seemed like it was going into one plot and then switched halfway. It made the movie confusing. A lot of those plots would have made good movies on their own.

Davy Jone's love life makes me cry, poor bastard. The intro scene was awesome. If you still haven't seen it, make sure you don't come in late. It was a grat scene. It sent chills down my spine. Very powerful scene.

Also: Now we know why Jack speaks funny don't we?

And finally: for those who have seen it...doesn't the crab-boat scene remind you of the work creatures?

End of movie squealing.

During the weekend, Link's family came down. It was fn to see all his brothers, his parents and his sister. Lot's of photos were taken. There was also a pool involved. We spent a day at Link's aunt's place, who lives here in Toronto. She had a pool. It was fun to splash around ^_^
The pool was actually full of salty water, which is apparently an alternative for chlorine. I like that idea. Pollutes less and stings less. Tastes just as funny.

How's work? My internship just moved into overdrive as it is coming to an end. The event is soon (two weeks) and therefore we are working like nutcases. But it's all good...

And yes, I am getting to a comic at some point! *laughs*

Finally, the follow up of the Oz miniseries! Woo!

I was actually wondering, do you guys like it when I update with a pack of drawings? Doing it like this makes it so that I take long brakes between my updates since I don't always have time to draw or idea to draw. Would you prefer if I showed these pages one by one or do you prefer the bunch updates? Anyways, tell me what you think...

By the way, Lina's foot/Gourry's forehead = OTP!! I love Zel's introduction as well.

I just like seeing updates from you in any format. I miss my Isa! *glomps* I'm glad you had a good time with Link's family. I also agree with you completely regarding Pirates. The more I watched, the more I liked Elizabeth, loved Jack (yes, I agree with the crab scene!) and couldn't care less about Will.

Oh, and Jack/Jack/Jack/Jack/Jack/Crab/Goat/Telescope = OTP!

Oh man, the several jacks were hilarious!!!!! The crabs were so darn cute...And wow, the telescope. The frigging telescope. I laughed so hard!

I though it was cool in a way for norrington to go out that way. He was cool. He has always been a good character, even when trying to be evil. I loved him for that.

Another really sad scene was the one with Elisabeth father. God, that was so sad! I was happy that they made it dramatic and didn't have him come aboard. If they would have "saved" him , it would have been a bit cheap.

I didn't really care much for will either, but I still though the wedding ceremony was cool (although I admit, I loved it mainly for barbossa "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today! *stabs* Yarhahahaha!") and I though the ending was sad.

My Zelgadiss is SO emo. *laughs*

I keep getting a lot of "we don't care for the lack or drawings...Just update!" I get that. I'd like to update more...I don't like when there's no drawings though. Maybe I can post older stuff on "blank" days. I should give me the goal to post every 2 or 3 days...

I munches on bunches! Yum! Although like DQBunny, anyway you post is good as long as you keep feeding our hunger for more of your comics.

Lina as shoes continually amuses me greatly. I love the panel with poor Gourrycrow with the shoe in the face and your skirt modestly held in place.

Aieee. Meg's a work! But what's in the middle of her forehead? Hmmm. (I also totally relate to "As a petite being, my reflex is always flight.")

Aw, man, that Gourry!Crow / Shoe!Lina panel is so horribly drawn! *laughs* Yet everyone loves it. Hehehe.

The diamind in the middle of her forehead is just to tell her apart from the other works. Normally I would have colored her a different color or something, but this is a black and white comic so...It's kinda like the bow on Chisery.

That scene where Elisabeth removes all her weaponery is such a classic! I don't know if anyone here remembers the one from miss congeniality ("No armored car?" "That would be my other dress")...I usually I suggest the big gun would be attached to an inside-leg strap, or inside her boot, since she reached down to fetch it. But they gave her small chinese shoes and a skin tight coton pants who don't stretch. So, technically, the gun could not have been anywhere. They shoulod have given her a little hustler or something and she could have pulled out this big kahuna of a weapon. More realistic, and just as funny.

God, no, not jacks brain!

The initial "barnacled Jack" and his licking his brain grossed me out. Ew! Ew! (Jack Sparrow: Brain lickin' good!) But later, when that Jack said that and was looking all over the floor of the brig, it reminded me of so many people when they lose a contact lens, that it really cracked me up.

Hey that's true! "nobody step on my brain!!!!"

Aw man-I heart Jack's father.

I'd probably like your comics more if I had actually seen Wicked, but since it's just a fanfic of Wizard of Oz, I'll probably be fine!

Actually, there is a few references to wicked, but It's just the same if you've only seen the old musical movie. It's mainly based on the wizard of Oz movie, since in Wicked (and also in the original books) Glinda is actually the witch of the South. Funny fact not many people know...THe north witch is good, but actually nameless. THe combined her character and Glinda's in the old moovie to same movie on actors and cut the scenario shorter. So that part at the end where she meets Glinda again and Glinda tells her to clap her shoes three times...All viewers wonder...Why the heck didn't she mention that BEFORE? Well, it's mainly because there's originally two witches.

I think it's also funny that the movie cast in both Oz and Dorothy's real world are the same, creating some kind of warped reality. In the movie, Oz is a dream, and it contains freudian elements (such as the tranposition of known faces to unknown personas)where as in the original books by Baulm, Oz is not a dream, and Dorothy returns (kinda like Alice, who returns and becomes queen.)

Okay, that was my boring and geeky Oz talk. I'm just an enormous fan of fairy tales and stories like Peter Pan, Alice and Oz.

Okay, Like I mentionned before, a lot of people seem to prefer more frequent update, even if bare of drawings. I'll try to give it a shot.

He would do something evil like that! ...being evil and all... We should mount a counterattack and free all of the enslaved - oh wait, I'm not there. Drat... Agreed on Chisery. I saw that last panel and it really got the gears turning.

(Anyway, I better stop staring at these drawings to find deeper meaning and stare at another batch of drawings so a poor half-dragon can get some clothing...)

I love the comic though, but yeah about updates. Anything is great to be honest, although it's nice just seeing you pop in and say hey, what's up without having drawings there too. I promise I do read your posts even if there aren't any drawings! Just post the drawings whenever you have the time, but don't be afraid to make a normal post if you have nothing to show.

Although that's coming from me who barely ever posts anything in his journal!

I'd like to post more, but I have like...Conditionned myself. It AS to have an image. Maybe I can post more photographs or images of paintings I like when I have nothing drawn by myself to post. Kinda like the people who review 50 books (that challenge a few people are doing, including Yuki) but with illustrations / illustrators. That would definitly get me to post faster and yet have nothing specific to show!

I don't mean to do it. That's just my inquisitive side and my observations! Maybe...maybe I have some sort of precognitive ability. I know what is going to happen! Muwahaha...actually I don't.

I agree with you on Elizabeth. I found her to be a bit annoying in the 2nd movie, but she was much more enjoyable in the 3rd one. I didn't think the crab as work creatures, but now that you mention it...it fits.

One of my friend has heard a rumour that Disney wants to make 3 more PotC movies, (@_@) which I REALLY hope isn't true. They should just leave the plot as it is. However, even if that is true, there are also rumours that Johnny deep doesn't want to play Jack anymore. So, I really hope Disney doesn't make anymore movies, because I can't imagine anyone else playing Jack

As for you comics, I'm fine either way. I'm just always glad when I see you post. ^_^

God, I hope they stay at 3. Trilogies work well. Doing any more movies would suck, especially if Jack is not there. I suggest they make an animated series instead, if they really want to milk the movie of this cow. Animated Jack would be nice. And the special effects would be less expensive. Hey, maybe a 3d animation? They already have models done in Kingdom hearts!

You know, I wouldn't be the least bit surprise if they did make an animated series. There is technically a 2d animated style for them to use. Disney made some short one shot PotC comics that's been publish in Disney magazines and I've seen it use on some merchandising like pillows, stickers, etc..

Personally, I think an animated series would be very interesting.

From what I read in an interview with Johnny Depp, he was actually depressed he wouldn't get to be Jack Sparrow anymore. (He was going on about how he'd be willing to do mall appearances and the like just to be the character again.) I did hear the director wanted to do something different though.

I've never seen so many different opinions about a movie XD . On the forum I frequent everyone likes it or hates it for completely different reasons XD

Before doing the Oz series I was supposed to do another series, in which Amelia was actually present. Finishing the read of "Wicked" stirred this idea, so I ended up doing it instead. Amelia should appear eventually. Actually, if you check in past posts, there is a few appearances of her.

The reason why Amelia is absent is probably the toaster indeed. However, I love that character. I drew two fanmanga based on her character. I,ll most likely post them up here eventually. One of them, titled Home, will actually be posted on this website:

Drawing those required a lot of getting into Amelia's character though, since you didn't provide a basic scenario, which gave me a lot of freedom...That's when I believe I actually started liking Amelia a lot. Before I was sortoff in between (One of those "yeah she's cool but the english version just added a nice layer of annoying.")

So I guess you spawnned the Amelia likeness. *laughs* I don't know if i'll ever draw another doujinshi based completly on her again. I just can't top "home". But i'll probably try.

I gotta say I see a lot of Amelia in Victoria as well. Like a grown-up (though sized down!) version of her.

Amelia's devious like that. I didn't care either way about her originally myself, but she has a way of growing on you. (Agreed on the English version, especially the first voice. I don't mind the second, and Veronica Taylor won me over by having a convincing cry, but Masami Suzuki will always be the real voice of Amelia as far as I'm concerned.)

Amelia did influence Vic somewhat, but not entirely. I can see where people would see the similarities though. (It is funny that Vic is a more grown-up version, yet younger at the same time.) :D

Yes, Amelia is a problematic character, and dubbing may completely revolutionize one's view of a char: for example they recently re dubbed Slayers in italian for the DVD version (because the original tv version had censor cuts to make it suitable to small children *rolls eyes*) and Amelia's new dubber is...awful >_>.
She's good at dubbing, but her voice doesn't fit her at all :she's the italian voice of Raven Baxter from That's so Raven and she's the typical voice used for characters that are a bit arrogant and whiny.

Even if I'ma an Amelia fan, I throw hissy fits every time I see the new version of Amelia on screen XD

Well, it's ten years later and Elizabeth is waiting along with a little boy who's about 9 or so years old. You see a green flash on the horizon an d The Flying Dutchman appears. Will steps off and greets Elizabeth and their son, freed from the curse since she was faithfully waiting for his return.

I kindasorta have my own RPG forum I run. It's not your typical RPG though. It's not so much on the "G" aspect... more on the "RP."

But, Meg is the original creator for Anlise, so it's almost like Anlise got changed!
