The big question of the universe

As a side note, i've been meaning to buy a chapters card for a while now, and I had so much fun there today (and I was buying a lot of books) that I decided to get one from Jessica, so she would get the brownie points (I was thinking about you at the time, yuki!)

I do realised that Jessica might have been faking her niceness, but all in all, I had a great time and she was really helpful ^_^

Well, Canada in general is more open with that sort of thing, isn't it? The most extreme thing I usually see is gay people. I don't mind those who are comfortable with who they are at all, but the "flaming gays" (people who practically push it down your throat) do weird me out. Of course, I always encounter people like that when I'm working, so I have to remain professional about it. Perhaps that's a good thing...

(I also live in a generally small community than say a city like Seattle, so I've less chance to see more extreme people in society. Most do seem to flock to Seattle -where I encounter them only rarely...the art snobs over there terrify me!- or go to California or something.)

Gah, just so you don't think I'm a homophobe or anything, the person who ever made me feel the most scared and awkward was the local drunk in a small town I got stranded in in Montana. That man truly did scare me because it was obvious he wasn't really aware of what he was saying, or what was going on. Even when I scrambled to hide out in my van (unfortunately with the windows open because it was summertime and HOT), he followed and stuck his head through the window and kept babbling at me.

Having a drunkard tell you you're pretty... *shudder* I think substance abusers are far scarier than people with an alternative lifestyle (as far as their gender and sexual preferences go) to my own.

*pet* No one thinks you're a homophobe.

One time, this guy on a bus, who was obviously very very gay, was bragging about how he did acid and such, and then he asked me for a mirror...I lent him mine expecting never to get it back...he put on lipstick and then kissed the mirror! I was VERY PO'ed...

Does that make ME a homophobe? Nope. It makes me wary of lending things out, tho...It was stupid of me to even DO SO anyways =P

Eew...why on earth would anyone kiss a mirror that doesn't belong to them? Think of the germs!! XP I probably would have thought twice about accepting my mirror back... Then again, I probably would have made a sound of surprise if someone kissed my mirror in the first place. (I am so anal about my things being kept nice!)

I sort of was flabberghasted. I was like, "Um...", and then went I went home, I scrubbed the damn thing like there wasn't a tommorow. With hot water. And soap. Gruh.

People confuse me.

And never fear, I am anal too. You should see me at work. Whenever I see a book out of place, I grumble loudly and FIX IT. When I should be doing something ELSE, usually.
