The big question of the universe

As a side note, i've been meaning to buy a chapters card for a while now, and I had so much fun there today (and I was buying a lot of books) that I decided to get one from Jessica, so she would get the brownie points (I was thinking about you at the time, yuki!)

I do realised that Jessica might have been faking her niceness, but all in all, I had a great time and she was really helpful ^_^

I don't think I've ever encountered someone like that. I have seen men I thought were woman, and women I thought were men though... (That was embarrassing!) I don't know if I could have been as brave to chat with someone like that though. I'm already shy enough as is, and that might just really make me go mute. (I already don't care for makeup as is, but seeing someone wearing too much of it would probably make me stare and...gah!)

Okay, yes, I have issues. -_-

Welcome to the world of Chapters! (I too have a Chapters Card. I'm practically a regular there. ^_~)

It is sad that people like Jessica can get treated badly, just because of how they look. Mind you, some people might just shy or afraid of saying the wrong thing. There was a guy in my anime club who always wore a dress. I was a bit nervous in talking to him at first, but now that I know him a bit better I'm not as nervous anymore.

I think people are scared of different people. I'm glad you talked to her. If it was that in-depth, I don't think she was faking her niceness at all.

Good for you for not only being open-minded and respectful, but giving her percentage a boost!

You know, I had this same experience the other day! A woman came in, dressed in full head-to-toe hijab. Now, in the past I'm sad to say that usually when women come into the store dressed in hijab, they're so rude to me T.T, even when I am so nice!

Anyways, I was nice to het, expecting the usually brush off, but she DIDN'T brush me off. She warmed up to me right away, and we started talking and joking about high-priced cookbooks and so much things like that! It really changed my mind, and I was happy to have that change, too. She had pretty eyes.

My sister pointed out this though: "She was probably relieved that you were so open-minded with her. She probably doesn't get that alot."

Which put everything into perspective for me when it came to the crabby hijab-ladies, too. I bet they were waiting for me to judge them or something...makes me sad. Like I would! Just because *I* wouldn't wear it (although it's sort of a neat idea...you can see all but they can't see YOU!!) doesn't mean I woudl peanalize someone who would...

Anyways, that was my story.
