Feeling sick-ish again.
I don't know why I'm always so sick when I start my period. The craps are horrifyingly bad and I just feel like vomiting all day. It was going better for a while but now it's bad again. *sigh* I'm hoping this miracle medication they gave me before will work again. At least I got to sleep last night. Usually when I sleep a little the pain fades a bit. So I feel a bit better today then yesterday morning. Still wish I wasn't going in to work though.
At least the weekend is here! Yaaaaay.
This weekend, my friend Fauve is visiting. There's a con in Montreal (Otakuthon) and it's also my friend's Sofi's birthday. So I won't be drawing much this weekend. But it's okay. dqbunny is still tweaking out the dialogue for the first chapter of Namesake, so I can take a drawing break. I managed to finish drawing the prologue! Yaaaay! :D IT'S ADVANCING YOU GUYYYYYS!
I'll leave you guys with these following fairy tale pictures. They aren't drawn by me. They are from a really old fairy tale book my mom found at work (she's the library technician at the Eduction Ressource Center of the Ottawa University). They have really amazing fairy tale books! And most of these are going to go into storage pretty soon. So sad...

This Beauty had EVIL SISTERS! It's the original version of the tale, and she totally did. Check out these b*tches.

*Gasp* She's reading! Oh noes!

OH NO TWO WOLVES! (There's actually more on the second page where the text is).

Beast, I love your castle.

Who needs a pocket version of the magic mirror?

I didn't get many scans of the beast. Here, beast dying.

And then he upgrades to...Swan-man?

I have to say, I have read Beauty and the Beast, but never one so beautifully illustrated! It is a shame that book is going in to storage, but I guess it's better than being thrown out...somehow. Regardless, I did always like the story, except how wishy washy Beauty was as a character. So sad she stays away from Beast because her sisters convince her to! I actually read an adaptation of it in school (a friend loaned it to me) that was just called 'Beauty', I think... It did a great job really expanding on the story, but the ending was so rushed it ruined the book for me. Regardless, evil sisters are evil, but somehow turning them into stone statues will help them learn not to be evil? Yay, story logic!

Meh. If they were throwing it out, my mother would have taken it. So I don't know. It's a real shame.
Fairy tales often have incredibly difficult tasks or severe punishment. I'm not sure why. Maybe that should be my next research subject XD
