I adore The Last Unicorn! I remember getting the VHS as a birthday gift from an eccentric friend of mine when I was a little kid. I liked the songs and how pretty it looked; but the old witch and the tree with the huge breasts totally freaked me out. LOL

The special edition DVD is amazing. I didn't even know the movie was based on a book until I got it. Now I'm dying to read "Two Hearts"! :)

You didn't know it was a book? I was told right away and given the book to read, which started both a *I love animation* and *I love unicorns!* phase in me as a kid.

Do you know the Tenth Kingdom mini series? You'll like that too! It's not animated, but it's got a similar feel of strange magic and goofy moments. Also, hot wolf guy. Aroo.

Nope. To be honest, I hadn't seen the movie for a long time (my old VHS started to go bad a while ago, too). I bought the DVD on impulse from Wal Mart about a year ago and heard all about the book via the interviews with the author in the "special features" part of the DVD.

Since I have some free time now, I really want to get the sequel from the library. It would be nice to find out what happened to all the characters after they parted ways at the end of the first book/movie.

I just love the Tenth Kingdom so much that I have the DVDs of it. Gotta love the hot wolf!

By the way I just love that picture that you did in honor of the Last Unicorn. I have your journal under my favorites so I can look in every once in a while since I love the pictures you draw! My one DVD I have is sigend by Peter S Beagle. I am still waiting on my CDs and Two Hearts book that I order in 2005 from him. The CDs is the Last Unicorn on Tape.

The last unicorn is so hard to draw, the movie had such a special spirit to it... I'm glad you liked it (and my other drawings) Wow, signed by the man himself. That's pretty lucky O_O. I was actually wondering how the writter was doing a few weeks ago. He seems still alive and well.
