I'm not a huge fan of Valentines day, not so much because of the commercial aspect, but more because of the guilt aspect. You have people who take their significant others on a date because "that's what they should be doing". And people who feel awful for being single. There's a certain lack of spontainity and honesty to the whole day. AT LEAST, for some people.

Other people really get into the subject of the day rather then the so-called obligations. I'm all for that. I like the idea of celebrating love and giving out cheesy little drawings.

So, I guess you could say i'm going to take a day to think about how much I love people. But i'm going to avoid the big special date with the rose bouquet. Cause that's just strange.

Happy heart day to all of you who have a small, or a large place in my heart. My heart is an apartment building. Some stay for a while, others not for long, but the rent is always low! I adore all of you!

Special mention goes to Link, who is my knight in shining cheesiness. You make me laughs, you give great hugs and you can stand the crazy I dispense in large quantities. You deserve all the kisses in the universe.

I think that's partly way I like saying Happy Hearts Day instead of just Happy Valentine's day. It's my little way to focus more on the love to everyone aspect, rather than just on couples.

Yeah. I really hate that. This should really be a day just about friends and family and lovers and just affection as a general rule. If anything, St-Valentine was all about empathy. Not ZOMG TRUE LOVE.

I would give you one of the cupcakes I made for today if I could. I'm all for having a day to commemorate love anyway. Yesterday I was talking to my niece about the upcoming Valentine card exchange for her class, and it made me really happy and nostalgic. One doesn't need to have a romantic significant other to appreciate the day. ^_-

Nic a été acheter un petit sac de popcron hier soir et on a pris un moment pour se coller devant un film, c'est banal mais c'est agréable.

Moi je lui ai laissé un petit paquet de son chocolat préféré sur son bureau ce matin :)

I only got to spend Valentines Day with a "significant other" once. It was nice; but I always preferred to treat Valentines Day as a day to celebrate love in general (my parents still enjoy giving me and my sisters cheesy gifts that we're far too old for).
