Bam! Namesake Launch!

So Namesake is officially started! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOO!

Where can I find this mysterious comic?

www.namesakecomic.com, three times a week!

We also have an official lj at : http://namesakecomic.livejournal.com/

What’s it about?

Namesake is the story of Emma Crewe, a woman who discovers she can visit other worlds. She finds out that these are places she already knows – fantasy and fairy lands made famous through the spoken word, literature and cinema. Her power as a Namesake forces her to act as a protagonist in these familiar stories as she figures out how to get home.

But as she travels, she discovers that those controlling her story have their own selfish goals in mind - and her fate is the key to everyone's happy ending.

Join Emma, her sister Elaine and their friends as they tumble down the rabbit hole.

If you like, adventure, humor, stories of friendship, fairy tales and fantasy, this is the webcomic for you.

You guys!

Thank you so much to all of you for your many encouragements during the developing process. I mean really. You guys are the greatest friend-list a girl could ever ask for. I love you guys.

A few of you asked me if they could help. Honestly, the best thing you can do to help is check out the comic. And if you like it, talk about it! Word of mouth and friendly support are priceless gifts and really, really useful.

Caution : contains feelings!

It’s hard to describe how I feel right now. I’ve been bouncing off the walls all day. I’m nervous about this. It’s more than a book in a way. I’ve published graphic novels. And with them the process kinda ends with the launch. Here, the launch is, instead, the beginning of a long commitment. This is the beginning of something I’m going to be working on continuously for a good while. I’m scared of failing. But I’m also confident that a good story, good art, good support from awesome people and good marketing could make this something great. However this project ends, I know it’s going to be a crazy learning experience. I look forward to spending time with these characters. And I hope you all do too.

Cake and fairy tales for everybody!

And special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dqbunny , the best co-author ever.

I really like the "Tu-Th-Sa" schedule. It "fills the gap" since most webcomics follow the "Mon-Wed-Fri" schedule. A few of my favorite comics do that too. :D

Thank you so much for the pimping! It helps so much!

I think Namesake would be appealing to Yu+Me dream readers. Dreamlike worlds? Check! Strong female protagonists? Check! History? Check!

Yeah, I told people it'll fill a YU+ME-shaped hole in their lives that'll be opening up soon. And I mean that. I'm happy in so many ways that Namesake is starting now!

It does seem like great timing!

I'm looking forward to your new webcomics too! Let me know if you ever want a "guest art" for meaty yogourt! I love the character designs!

I would love guest art! I'd love to do guest art for Namesake as well. :)

Would you? that would be AWESOME.

I,ll take you up on that. Maybe later when the story is more advanced (that way you have a larger pool of characters to choose to draw!). I would love to have guest art chapter pages. It would be awesome!

I forgot, I wanted to ask you : did you find the promoting/building readership part was hard for Yu+Me dream? How did you do it? I'm not really sure how to do it myself (aside from using tools such as "project wonderful") I don't know if you would have a word of advice for a scared newbie...

I love your "I Was Kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates from Outer Space" comic! That's still going to stick around for a while, right? *pouty lips and puppy eyes*
