The prologue is about Alice Lidell and Lewis Carrol, and the goal was to quote a bunch of Tenniel illustrations with this drawing. So you'll notice that it's a mix of the Jabberwocky illustration, the Alice as the white queen illustration, the first illustration where she is sitting in a chair with her kittens and the fireplace with the mirror should look exactly like it does in the drawing where she goes thru the looking glass. Trying to re-draw the poses and elements was difficult (I only have a tiny book with tiny versions of the illustrations). I'm SO happy you noticed it quoted Tenniel's work!!!! THIS MEANS IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE TENNIEL'S! This makes me so happy you have no idea. I felt like I failed at doing linework similar to his.
